Do I have a beauty to show you! Heather is a farmhouse chic child’s desk that has just the right balance of soft lines and rustic charm. What I love most about this piece is that the colors have a fresh, updated look while at the same time looks like she was painted ages ago and distressed over time.
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for this project and mixed an approximate 50/50 mixture of Old White and Duck Egg Blue for the desk base. On the table top, I used a mixture of Old White with a touch of Graphite.
After some distressing with a medium grade sanding block, I finished the piece with Annie Sloan Clear Wax and buffed it smooth.
I love how the tabletop turned out. It’s always a nice surprise to see what
imperfections beauty shines through to give each piece that unique character.
This pretty girl will be sure to give lots of love for years to come! On that note, I’ve been working on setting up an online retail space where Heather will be for sale. Stay tuned!
Lots of love,
