Easton – The Office Desk

Easton turned out to by quite a cool kat. Yes, that’s “kat” with a “k”… because he’s kewl! :) Drumroll, please…

Sometimes, a little restraint goes a long way! Not everything has to be painted. This handsome guy had a beautiful wood tone that just needed a good polish. Remember the “before” pic I showed you a few days ago?
The base was polished with Annie Sloan Dark Wax, which filled in the minimal scratches he had in addition to giving the wood tone a nice sheen.

The desktop was painted with a mixture of Annie Sloan Old White and Coco, leaving a small subtle stripe taped off. I don’t have the formula, because I really didn’t measure — but I’m so pleased with the color! It’s like the perfect mix of white, brown, and grey tones.

After about three coats, I distressed the edges with a medium-grade sanding block and finished the tabletop with a coat of Annie Sloan Clear Wax.

I thought this was the perfect piece to add stenciled numbers, too, and I do LOVE them! After stenciling with the same paint color as the tabletop, I finished each drawer with a coat of Annie Sloan Clear Wax.

I’m really lovin’ this stripe!

I know I say this about nearly every piece, but this really is my favorite desk so far… I think. :)

Easton has been posted on craigslist here.

Lots of love,
